There's a new section at Mikroworld called
Showcase.. Features some early
prototypes and one-offs that haven't
been seen before..
The candle.. Tired of getting wax all over
your table, carpet,
clothes?.. But still like the long tradition of lighting and blowing
out the stick of wax?.. Then maybe the Hono..
is for you.. This rechargeable LED candle lights up when you bring the
electronic match stick to the wick.. And shuts off when you blow on
it.. Burn time is between 15-8 hours between charges..

Using Ductal (high strength concrete).. Omer
Arbel was able to create
the 8.0
Chair.. With
this new material.. a very thin profile with a scary cantilever is made
possible..

Here's a great article on the 1001hp.. 4-turbo.. All wheel
drive Bugatti
Veyron.. I'm loving the analog 1001 horsepower meter (in
increments of 100hp).. The car
took a lot longer to produce than expected.. but after engineering all
the kinks out.. It's finally here..

For all you lovers of things Japanese.. And things cappuccino.. You
might appreciate the Jap-puccino
at Kamatsura SHI-KI..
Alessandro Loschiavo's
design
stems from the recent popularity of the coffee craze in the land of the
rising sun.. The set is tradional Japanese laquerware with a modern
form factor.. The saucer has a large depression for the cup.. And a
smaller depression for the teaspoon.. Strange yet beautiful..

This is a great app for those with a portable usb key etc.. The Portable Apps Suite is a free
download that turns your storage device into "your computer,
without the computer".. The suite consists of a portable version of: a
web browser, an email client, a web editor, an office suite, a word
processor, a calendar / scheduler, an instant messaging client and an
FTP client.. It can all be found separately.. But thank John Haller for
doing all the work for us.. Just plug your device into a Windows pc and
work away.. And when you're done.. Unplug.. And take everything away
with you..
Do you play a sport that
requires you to
track a ball accurately?..
Want to possibly improve your game?.. Then Nike
MaxSight might be what you're looking for.. The technology
filters out part of the visible spectrum that reaches your retina..
Making the ball appear to pop out from the background.. The lenses also
filter out harmfull UV rays.. An added bonus..
I've been keeping my eye
on the C-SportLounge since it debuted at
the Frankfurt Motor Show.. Here are a few new details about the
possible production model..

Via Gizmag.. Following the K1200 R..
BMW comes a swinging with the R1200
S.. This naked bike is just plain sexy.. With a mix of modern
and classic lines.. 25% more power and 10% lighter than its
predecessor.. I'm loving the BMWs with the black and yellow scheme..
Here's a great little
stocking stuffer.. The Designer
Emulation Kit .. Miniatures of lamps from the likes of
Maurer, and Castiglioni.. Below is the DEK (Tizio) of one of my
favorite designers, Richard Sapper.. Nice..

Am back from the mountains.. Good times..
Here's the latest from the Freshly Squeezed
department..
If Upstream
Engineering's Photon Vacuums progress quickly enough.. It
could mean that they could be built right into your cell phones,
camcorders, data storage devices and project video and images onto a
nearby wall.. Enabling you to share your media on a larger scale.. Cool
stuff.. Target date sometime in 2006?.. That would be nice..
