C in the UK..

I figured that the Golgo-philes would be interested in an amazing weekend that I have stumbled into. As a longtime fan of the Golgo, I offered to shoot some pics for a little guest bloggage and was very excited when the Golgo crew gave the green light. I am immersed in a UK weekend which will include the British GP, Stage 1 of the Tour de France and some random sights and scenes in between. Originally we planned to check out the Damien Hirst skull, as today was the last day of his show, but some cheeky bloke at the door told us we were too late. We missed the show by 15 minutes. We were totally going to buy the skull, but we had to settle for a souvenir book. So, Saturday was spent watching the Tour and wandering around town. Here are some sights..

Though stage one is insignificant as far as competition (and actually called a “prologue”), it was quite a thrill to see the beginning of the legendary race, in an amazing environment. And the time trial bikes are stunning pieces of equipment..

This was a very surreal puppet show that literally took place as the riders sped by, 20 feet away. The puppets were apparently of Caribbean decent and proceeded to deliver a full dancehall tune, which included gunshots, “lord-have-mercys and lots of shout outs to various massives. Weird..

The Japanese dudes were into it. For some reason, they kept showing this poster to the motorcycle cops that would pass them..

For auto sports enthusiasts, if you’re ever in London, I highly recommend checking out the Alex Reade Store near Piccadilly Circus. They have a vast and impressive inventory of auto sports memorabilia and products. Yes, the Jensen and Peter Nomex is real… and really expensive..
